Italy’s Law 132/2025 in force — employee AI notification is now an obligation

2 Aug 2026

the EU AI Act’s transparency obligations apply across every member state

The problem

Shadow AI isn’t coming. It’s already on payroll.

You can't protect what you can't see

Marketing has a ChatGPT habit. Sales found an AI note-taker. Engineering wired an API key into production. None of it is written down anywhere — and you're the one accountable for all of it.

Your customers are starting to ask

Enterprise security questionnaires now have an AI section. "Do you have an AI usage policy?" is a deal-blocking question, and "we're working on it" is a deal-losing answer.

The law stopped waiting

Italy's Law 132/2025 already requires you to inform employees when AI is used at work. The EU AI Act's transparency obligations take effect on 2 August 2026 — the high-risk rules were deferred to 2027, transparency wasn't. Neither one has an exemption for "we didn't know."

How it works

From “no idea” to audit-ready in one afternoon

Discover

Send the AI Amnesty Survey — a 5-minute, no-login link your whole team can answer from their phone. No installs, no network monitoring, no blame. Just an honest map of the AI already in use.

Classify

Every tool gets a plain-language risk level — low, limited, or flagged for review — based on what data it touches and whether it influences decisions about people. No legal jargon, ever.

Prove

Generate your internal AI policy, the external transparency summary, and the employee notification letter. Export everything as one branded, audit-ready Governance Pack.

What you get

Everything the questionnaire asks for. Nothing you don’t need.

AI tool inventory

Every AI tool in one register: vendor, departments, data types, purpose, and an owner. The single source of truth your company never had.

Plain-language risk levels

Each tool classified as low, limited, or flagged — with a one-paragraph explanation a non-lawyer actually understands.

Policy generator

An internal AI use policy and an external transparency summary, drafted for your actual inventory — then yours to edit, version and approve.

Employee AI notice

Law 132/2025

Italian law requires employers to inform staff when AI is used in work processes. Shadowguard generates the letter from your inventory — in Italian and English.

Italy & EU

Costruito per l’Italia. Ready for Europe.

Generic AI compliance tools translate American checklists. Shadowguard starts from the laws your company actually answers to.

Legge 132/2025

The first national AI law in the EU, in force since October 2025. Shadowguard ships its workplace-transparency obligations as one-click documents.

EU AI Act

Transparency obligations apply from 2 August 2026 — confirmed, not delayed by the 2027 deferral on high-risk systems. Shadowguard covers the deployer-side basics: AI-use transparency, review of high-impact outputs, and light internal documentation.

Italiano + English

Every generated document — policies, notices, transparency summaries — available in both languages. Your team reads Italian; your enterprise customers read English.

Questions

The things everyone asks first

Is the AI Amnesty Survey really anonymous?

Yes. There's no login, and answers are recorded by tool — not by person. We deliberately never store who said what. The whole point is amnesty: your team can be honest without fear, so you get a true picture instead of a polished one.

Do you train AI on our data?

No. Document drafting runs through the Anthropic API, which does not train on your data. Prompts only ever contain the inventory and company profile you type in — never your customers' data and never survey identities. We log token counts for billing, never the content of a prompt.

Do you monitor employees or track who uses what?

Never. No browser extensions, no network monitoring, no per-person surveillance. The optional directory scan is read-only and aggregated to the app level: it tells you an AI app is in use across the company, never which employee signed into it.

Does the EU AI Act actually apply to a company my size?

If your team uses AI tools at work — even just ChatGPT — you're a deployer, and transparency duties apply from 2 August 2026 (the high-risk rules, including formal human-oversight requirements, were deferred to 2027 and mostly don't apply to everyday tools like ChatGPT anyway). In Italy, Law 132/2025 already requires informing employees — that one's active now. Shadowguard covers those deployer-side basics in plain language.

Do we have to install anything?

No. The survey is a link your team opens on their phone. The optional OAuth discovery is a one-time admin consent that stays read-only. Nothing ever runs on an employee's device.

How much does it cost?

Shadowguard is in early access while we onboard the first companies — join the waitlist and we'll set you up. Pricing will be simple and per-company, announced before general availability.
